Home of Elvira's Dreamed Up Art Babies
INTRODUCTION: My name Elvira Ceci, I'm wife to a wonderful supportive husband, mother to two amazing daughters and grandmother to two incredible grandchildren, Sammi and Robert-Joseph. I sculpt one of a kind (OOAK)babies. IN THE PAST: From an early age I had an interest in the arts and crafts. Over the years I enjoyed, sketching, painting, crocheting, knitting, dollmaking, sculpting and more. I have had the pleasure of creating a variety of crafty and artistic items, some of which I sold others which I made just for family and friends. To my delight I even had one of my soft doll creations "The Pear People", which I made up for one of my children when they were very young, featured in the February/March 2002 issue of "Soft Dolls & Animals" magazine. I also had one of my OOAK polymer clay babies appear alongside many talented artists in the February/March 2008 issue of "Contemporary Doll Collector" magazine. DISCOVERIES: Even though I had many interests, I was never really devoted to one until I discovered the art of sculpting babies out of polymer clay. After I saw a sculpture by a wonderful artist, Debra Lee Lyback, of "Hartwork Babies" on an E-Bay auction, I became so inspired that in 2005 I began sculpting my own babies out of polymer clay. TODAY: I remain captivated by this amazing art medium. I lovingly sculpt each baby by hand from a lump of clay. I never use a mold, so no two babies are alike. I'm so glad to have discovered this art that speaks of my dream of motherhood. Although my art is not perfect, the art of making babies out of polymer clay is the perfect art for one like me, who loves nothing more in this world than children. FUTURE GOALS: I will continue to learn about working with polymer clay and hope to improve my art and continue my dream. Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed your visit!
